New Website Live: Redmond Machinery & Motors, Gorey, Co. Wexford
We are pleased to announce that another new dealer site has gone live: Redmond Machinery & Motors in Gorey, Co. Wexford, now trading online at redmondmachinery.ie.
Redmond Machinery & Motors is an independent dealer in plant and machinery serving Wexford, Wicklow, Carlow and the wider south east. Their stock covers all terrain forklifts, wheel loaders and loading shovels, tractors and 4×4 utility machines, supplied new and ready to work.
Why this build mattered
Like a lot of Irish dealers, Redmond had built the business through DoneDeal, word of mouth and repeat trade. That works. It sells machines. But it comes with a ceiling that most dealers only notice once they hit it.
When your entire online presence sits on somebody else’s marketplace, three things are true at once.
The machine pages belong to the marketplace, not to you. Every listing you pay for builds search authority for their domain. When the advert expires, the page goes, and so does anything Google had learned about it.
Buyers arrive and leave without ever landing anywhere that belongs to you. They see a machine, they enquire or they do not, and there is nothing to bring them back next time.
And most importantly for a dealer selling brands the buyer may not know, there is nowhere for that buyer to go and check you out.
That last point is the one that matters most here. Redmond sell machines under brands that a buyer in Ireland will not necessarily recognise from the yard gate. When somebody is about to spend twenty thousand euro on an all terrain forklift or a wheel loader, the first thing they do is put the brand name and the dealer name into Google. If nothing comes back, that hesitation costs the sale, and it costs it silently. You never hear from the buyer who quietly decided not to bother.
A proper dealer site closes that gap. The stock is there, the business is there, the contact details are there, and the buyer can satisfy themselves before they pick up the phone.
What goes into machinery dealer websites that actually work
There is a difference between a website and a website that sells machinery. We have built a lot of both over the years, and the ones that produce enquiries have a few things in common.
Every machine gets its own page. This is the single biggest thing dealers get wrong. A PDF stock list, or one long page with everything on it, gives Google nothing to rank. A page per machine, with the make, model, year, spec and price on it, means that when somebody searches for that exact machine, there is a page that can answer them.
A stock system the dealer can update themselves. If adding a machine means emailing your web designer and waiting three days, stock does not get added. The site goes stale, and a stale site is worse than no site because it tells the buyer you are not really trading. Everything we build is loaded and edited by the dealer in minutes.
Built for how buyers actually search. People do not search for a dealer, they search for a machine, a brand, or a machine near them. That means the site needs to answer plant and machinery search terms and local search terms at the same time.
Built for a phone. The vast majority of machinery enquiries now come from somebody standing in a yard or sitting in a cab, looking at a phone. If the number is not one tap away, you have lost them.
Honest speed. Big photographs of big machines are heavy. If the page takes eight seconds to load on rural mobile data, the buyer is gone before the first image appears.
None of that is complicated. It is just the difference between machinery trader website designs built by somebody who understands the trade, and a generic template that happens to have a picture of a digger on it.
Irish dealer websites and the cross border question
We build a lot of Irish dealer websites, north and south, and there is one thing worth saying plainly to any dealer in the Republic reading this.
Your buyer is not only in Ireland.
Machines move across the border constantly, and they move to the UK mainland and to export markets beyond that. A dealer in Wexford, Roscommon or Donegal who is only visible on an Irish marketplace is invisible to a buyer in Armagh, Lancashire or further afield who would happily have travelled for the right machine at the right money.
A dealer website does not have a border. Neither does Google. That is a large part of why we push Irish dealers to own their own site rather than rent visibility by the advert.

Thinking about it for your own business
Websites start from £750 plus VAT as a one off, or the equivalent in euro for dealers in the Republic. That covers the build, the stock system and the setup. There is no monthly contract and no tie in. Hosting is £225 plus VAT a year and only from year two onwards. Build time is four to five working days.
If you already have a domain sitting doing nothing, we point it at the new site and your email carries on exactly as it is.
You can see the full range of what we do at Plant And Tractor Trader Digital Marketing Services, and if you want your stock in front of buyers across the UK and Ireland at the same time, unlimited listings on Plant And Tractor Trader are £500 plus VAT for twelve months.
